2023.06.07 11:17 AffectionateFocus190 A friend of mine committed suicide at 9 years old.

Throwaway account since I'm young.
Back in primary school when I was in 2nd grade my older brother had a friend that I'll call Tim. Older brother and Tim would play at either one of our houses, not video games, more horsing around. Older brother, Tim and another friend would be at school together. Tim wasn't popular with others and got bullied on the bus, people spat on him as they got off the bus. One time there was a heated argument in which the other kid yelled something along the lines of kys. I don't think it was long after when he hung himself in his closet. When I was told by my mum on a Friday afternoon that he died, I cried but didn't understand what suicide was. On Monday we had an assembly where we released blue balloons (his favourite colour) into the sky in his honour. We were all told he was bitten by a snake in his house as to not upset us. Only 1 teacher, around 50 years told us what happened. She went to attend his funeral. He shouldn't have died
He would have turned 18 in 2025.

2023.06.07 11:13 Shytitmouse Apartments not enforcing disabled parking spaces?

Greetings denizens of the web. I've come to you in need. I am a tenant of an apartment complex in the state of Arkansas. I was diagnosed with bone cancer in 2020 and lost a leg (below knee amputation). It is my opinion that there are too few parking spaces for the number of tenants that these apartments can house. There are disabled parking spaces provided, however they're treated like any other spot. I work nights, so I come rolling in late and all the spots are taken rather consistently. The spaces have the paint on the ground and the typical signs on posts directly in front of the spaces. The closest space to my door is coincidentally directly under the brightest street light at the complex. So people know what they're doing. And I sympathize. I've spent the last two years biting my lip and walking the distance from the next nearest open space, handicap or otherwise. I'd guess around 150+ feet. They raised my rent nearly $100 one month before my lease renewal, so I kinda got pinched there. But, that was the last of my patience. So I've called the offices to make a formal complaint regarding the issue. I've resigned myself to call every time, every day someone without tags or placards is parked in the space. Just the space I'm interested in. I'm not playing hall monitor here, going around the complex auditing every handicap space. I'm also calling at all hours of the night, cuz that's when I'm up. Of course the call goes straight to a machine. "this call may be recorded or monitored for training purposes" "a member our our staff will get back with you during our next business hours" kinda thing. I state my name, apartment number, and the reason for calling. Ending with a polite "thank you for your time". I've got 5+ years here, and hated every day of it. But housing/rent crisis in America, am I right? Any who. I started calling this month (June). I've called and left 5 messages in 7 days so far and have received no response. I know I'm asking for eviction, but at this point any hill looks good to die on. I was just looking to prepare for the backlash and further educate myself on what rights I have and what responsibilities (if any) my overlords are legally bound to. Thanks much.

New to the hobby, first model
I have posted one other model, but that was done after this one and I realised I forgot to show this one. Decided not to go with the Tau sept since painting this but thought I should show it off for criticism so I could improve on it if I ever went down that route again. Thanks! For the greater good.

2023.06.07 11:09 Tylandord M/24 the road to self improvement is a long one, but I hope it's worth it.

I am not providing any advice, nor condoning any mental health decisions made without the supervision and council of medical professionals. This post does contain a recount of my struggles with involuntary suicidal ideation, but does not encourage, condone, or glorify self harm.
If you're in crisis call emergency services, or a crisis hotline. There are people who can help.
So my journey with mental health and various diagnosis is a long one, and I feel that sharing my various diagnoses and thier timelines is somehow important to my story. With that being said, I'll try to be brief (no promises).
I seemed like a relatively normal kid until around the age of 3, I was difficult to potty train (I actually have memories from that time and it was very traumatic for both me and my mom). I believe this is due to my ongoing struggles with interoception. My family was also concerned about my delayed speech development. I am the youngest of 24 grandchildren and was often doted on as a child. For years my family just assumed that my development was delayed during that time because everyone did everything for me and that I had lacked any need to speak for myself or toilet train because people spoke for me and found that changing me was less of a fight than trying to deal with outbursts with potty training. Then, I suddenly went from hardly speaking at all, to one day speaking in full complete sentences in a way that was suddenly far beyond what other children my age were capable of.
By the age of 4 my parents felt I was hyperactive and unruly. My dad, being a pharmacist, felt I should see a pediatric shrink to see about some stimulants as he himself had been diagnosed with ADHD and was hoping to get me treatment as early on as possible.
For the most part, nothing changed until I was 12. By this point, my family and I had spent the better part of 7 years jumping from stimulant to stimulant in an attempt to control my seemingly uncontrollable nature. It was at this point in time that we decided I should have a full Neuro-psych evaluation. It was at this time that I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, bipolar tendencies, and dysgraphia, but not ADHD. I was put on enough Seroquel to tranquilize a horse, and I gained 40 pounds in span of about 4 months.
It took me a long time to learn to accept this diagnosis as a kid as I didn't want to be seen as the "kid from Parenthood" or Rainman.
At age 14 I was hospitalized at a pediatric psych ward for 9 days. I wasn't keeping up with the medications I had been prescribed (pretty sure it was buproprion) which caused violent mood swings. I was struggling. I was relentlessly bullied for my lack of social skills, being overweight, and my effeminate demeanor. I was called every homophobic and neurodivergent slur there is and it often happened in front of faculty. My peers would throw rotting food at me on my walk home from school. I had no friends and had lost all hope in the public school system. It got to the point where I decided to take matters into my own hands as I felt that the adults could no longer protect me in this environment.
I now know there were better ways to handle my situation and that I had more options at my disposal, but nevertheless, I chose to say something that would ensure that I would never have to return to public school ever again. The school district learned of the negligence from the staff, and my expulsion was lifted. I would be allowed to return to school the following year, in the meantime I was to attend class at the district office with a personal instructor, away from my peers (thank god).
My mom decided to investigate various private schools for kids both exclusively on the spectrum, and more broadly affected by various neurodivergencies. I shadowed these schools and attended each one for a week. I concluded that their resources would be wasted on me as I knew there were other kids who needed their services more than myself and would feel guilty if I took that from someone who needed it more.
It was after attending these schools that I decided it was up to me to learn to adapt to the world around me and I dove into teaching myself social skills, masking techniques, coping skills, health living, and mindfulness. I didn't return to any in person instruction until I earned my GED at the age of 17, and immediately proceeded to college thereafter.
At 17 I had another evaluation completed to fulfill the accomodation requirements at a community college. At that time, I was then diagnosed (by the same clinician) with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and Dysgraphia. My psychiatric team now lacked the bipolar suspicion, as they believed those symptoms, at age 12, were the result of a poor home life at the time.
And to be honest, until I turned 19, I was fine. I had been unmedicated without issue since I was 16. I was working at the college bookstore during rush week, I got a student elected job as a club liaison, my grades were good enough for me, and I learned to buckle down when I needed to. I had grown, made friends, finally found myself at a healthy weight, Igot involved with student government, "become popular" and while I wasn't the most dedicated student, I was progressing. I felt proud of myself.
That would all soon change. After begining to doubt my decision to study physics (as I had been told by many people that it would result in more debt than I could afford, and likely working in IT/CompSci like every other physics PhD wannabe). I decided to change majors to Data science, and move away to a full fledged university. I hated my studies, and struggled with large classrooms. I moved in with two other students who were complete strangers in an apartment off-campus. My eyes had been opened, I was not ready. I struggled with time management, public transportation, and social isolation. And then, before I knew it, I would be hit with perhaps the most distressing symptom I've ever experienced.
Disclaimer: The following paragraph contains my experiences with involuntary suicidal ideation and visual OCD. It's purpose is to shed light on my experience with mental health. It is by no means a glorification of, or encouragement to attempt, any form of self harm. I will not go into graphic detail of what I saw, and continue to see, as it is unnecessary and potentially triggering to others.
This is when the symptoms, of which I now understand to be visual OCD, began. I would begin to see the aftermath of my own demise on a regular basis. At first I would attempt to reason it away, after all I'm happy, intelligent, and more emotionally aware than ever. But the flashes of horrific imagery continued to become more graphic and frequent causing me to become increasingly distressed by the day. I didn't want to die, so how could I be seeing these things. It got to the point where I didn't know what to do, I was at my wits end and felt like I was losing my mind.
I decided to see a campus NP once I had begun to fail all my classes and he very abrasively diagnosed me with Bipolar Depression and ADHD, concluding that I was never on the spectrum to begin with. I got a medical withdrawal, my term was refunded and felt like a complete failure. I would then go on to take my classes online the following semester, but as my grades began to slip and with little hope for a brighter future, I withdrew again.
I would then choose to dive head first into a relationship with another man in an effort to run from my problems. I moved almost 1500 miles away from my family to be with him, and I had hoped if I just ran fast enough, my problems wouldn't keep up with me. This thinking is clearly flawed and blinded me from the issues within the relationship, and encouraged me to ignore red flags about my now ex-partner.
At 22, after trying to ignore my visual OCD for the better part of 3 years and ignoring the glaring issues in my life, I finally had fallen into the deepest depression of my life. Despite trying online education again (and barely meeting my credit requirements) I found myself constantly ill, depressed, and often unwilling to get out of bed. My relationship had been falling apart since we had moved in together, and had grown tired of running away.
My ex-partner being unexposed to mental health struggles before being with me, and rightfully assessing that it was not his responsibility to be my caretaker, he gave me an ultimatum. Either I do something about it, or I go home and let my family take over. I decided to try a few different medications that I had been on in the past based on my mom's best recollection of what was most effective growing up. No success.
Six months later, I finally came clean about the hallucinations/flashes when my best friend took her own life. I couldn't risk keeping this secret any longer if I was to have any chance of making it. I had to persevere. For myself, for my family, for her.
By this point, I had been on almost every class of drug used to treat mental illness, excluding MAOI's and tricyclics. I needed something different, and fast.
That's when I learned about ketamine infusions for depression from my mentor. He encouraged me to go to a clinic and see if they felt I was a good candidate. I was, and it's the best treatment I've every received. I'm very lucky that I am able to afford it, with the help of my family's financial support.
I had found relief from the visual OCD and gained some clarity regarding my relationship. Over Thanksgiving of 2022, I broke things off with him and moved back in with my folks. I have been continuing my treatment here, and my new psychiatrist finally revealed to me that I have OCD, ADHD, and ASD. He also revealed to me that the depression and anxiety are accessories to these other issues.
My treatments have been helping more than anything has in the past. But now more than ever, I feel like I'm still struggling with the fallout of the last 5 years. I feel that I've wasted precious time, and let naivety dictate my decisions for far longer than was reasonable.
I've been enrolled in online school for the last year and a half, in a program that I love, but I feel as if I've lagged behind. Lacking motivation to continue, and feeling ill equipped to confront the road ahead of me, I feel like I'm stalling.
I know that I'm bright but when people talk about me in high regard, I feel it's unearned. When I complete a course ahead of schedule, I don't feel as if I've accomplished anything. I don't feel the happiness in success, and struggle to carry out my goals because of it.
I'm still struggling to take care of myself. Keeping my surroundings clean and organized, maintaining a consistent sleep schedule (even when practicing seemingly perfect sleep hygiene), bathing myself, socializing with others, and managing my time all individually feel like ginormous tasks on their own (let alone maintaining all of them at the same time).
I often wonder... "What happened to me?" "I was doing so well." "How did things get to this point?" "I want things to go back to how they were."
The last 6 months have been the best I've been in 5 years, but it's still hard. I feel like there's so much to do, so much to relearn.
When I came back to my home city, my friends had all moved on. I tried to make new friend by joining a league at a local pool hall (billiards is a passion of mine) but I couldn't make a good connection with any of them. The things I used to love like video games, mountain biking, billiards, music, scripting projects, and drawing are all met with anhedonia.
I'm seeing a therapist, and it's helping some, but I still feel like there are cogs and gears missing from my clock. There are pieces missing from the puzzle. I feel unwhole. I want to live up to "my potential" and have something to feel proud about, but anytime I pursue an activity I feel anxious and self-conscious. I want to do things again.
Part of me wonders if I even have the right diagnosis, if there's something we still don't know about. I find that I have a hard time trusting that mental health professionals that diagnose and prescribe can help me anymore because they've all had a different idea of what I have, with no new ideas for how to treat my mental illness.
I keep trudging along, trying to find joy in the process but I can't help but feel the weight of the tasks ahead. I know results based thinking isn't sustainable, but when you feel like you're stagnating in the process, it's hard not to feel hopeless for the years to come.
I'm not suicidal, but I'm beginning to question what all this is even for. I feel it's unlikely I'll ever find complete relief from my symptoms. Life is probably going to keep being hard. I guess I'm just hoping that one day all this work and dedication will pay off, the other shoe will drop, and I'll finally find meaning and joy in life.
Until then, I'll just keep persevering with the ebbs and flows, trying to maintain whatever kind of good habits and routine I can until I feel comfortable enough to try and add on something new.
Hopefully this post doesn't get flagged as I actually found typing this out pretty therapeutic. We aren't alone in our struggles.
There's hope out there... I think. Maybe not now, but hopefully someday the page will turn, and the sun will shine for a brighter tomorrow.

Vintage hi-fi art installation with 500+ working pieces
Hi guys,
recently I came across a collector of vintage hi-fi and old TV's (see post here: https://www.reddit.com/hifiaudio/comments/13yzqzf/500_hifi_collection_found_what_to_do/) and now I wanted to pick your brains with the following idea.
On discussions with a friend of mine who is an art directovideographer he suggested I explored the idea of the "Babel Tower" by Cildo Meireles on show at Tate Modern in London.
I think it is an amazing idea and we could easily put this forward to a Portuguese Gallery and make the owner proud (collector is Portuguese and nearing 70, with some health issues...).
What do you think it would be the biggest obstacles?
The equipment wouldn't be displayed as Cildo's tower but using the collectors metal shelving displays, so that we already have, we would just need to paint them and maybe solder a couple of levels on to the top... if you look at the image of the green metal storage, there are 5 rows, we could make it 7 or 8 for a more dramatic height? He has another 5 or 6 full of gear just like this one.
We would like the equipment to be ON all the time (for the duration of a potential exhibition, which could be 8 hours one every day...).
Cildo's Babel is on all the time and all the radios make sound, I wonder how we could make a selection of tape decks or reel-to-reel work on command/remote?
Otherwise it could be just the tuners playing just like Cildo's.
Thanks for your opinions!

2023.06.07 11:04 lechatheureux The Tonpa Kingdoms Part 2 (The Kingdoms of Jangshun and Monyul)

Check out part 1 for context
The Tonpa Kingdoms Part 1 (Overview and The Gods) : worldbuilding (reddit.com)
There are 5 connected Kingdoms that have Tonpa as their main religion these are.
Jangshun
A Place of snow-capped Mountains and green Valleys, said to be built upon the ruins of the ancient Jungar people who controlled much of the area of Jangshun and the nearby kingdoms of Monyul and Taishigang.
Very little is known about the Jungar, their ruins are scattered throughout the landscape of Jangshun, and are often characterized by simple stone structures, pottery shards, and other artifacts. Based on these remains, it is believed that the Jungar were a relatively simple society, with a lifestyle that revolved around farming, herding, and other basic activities.
Despite their lack of sophistication, the Jugar are an important part of the history and culture of the region many myths and legends have grown up around them, the people of Jangshun often see the Jungar as a symbol of the enduring spirit of the region, and take pride in the fact that they were able to survive and thrive in a harsh and unforgiving environment. In addition to their physical remains, the Jungar have left a lasting impact on the people of Jangshun in other ways. Their language, customs, and traditions are thought to have influenced the culture of the later kingdom, and many people still feel a strong connection to the Jagun and their way of life.
The Capital of Jangshun is called Druktse, founded by Dragon Priests and the legendary Namgyal dynasty the city is known for its unique architecture, with buildings made of wood and stone, intricately carved and painted with colorful designs and motifs, the streets are narrow and winding, with prayer flags fluttering in the breeze and the sound of temple bells ringing in the air.
At the center of the city is the Royal Palace of Jigme Wangchuk, a majestic building that serves as the residence of the Royal Family, the palace consists of several wings and halls, each with its own specific function. The main hall is the center of political and ceremonial activities, where the king held court and received important guests. The royal family's private quarters were located in a separate wing, with opulent living spaces and lavish decorations.
One of the most impressive features of the palace is the Eagle Tower, a tall structure that houses the elite Eagle Guards, who were responsible for the king's security the tower is covered from top to bottom with intricate carvings of the bird of prey.
The palace is surrounded by lush gardens and fountains, and it is guarded by soldiers in traditional Eagle attire, the Eagle Guards of the palace of Jingme Wangchuk are an elite group of soldiers tasked with protecting the king and the royal family, known for their fearsome reputation and exceptional combat skills, the Eagle Guards are considered one of the most prestigious units in the Jangshun army.
The guards are named after the majestic eagles that inhabit the mountainous regions of Jangshun, and they were trained to emulate the hunting tactics of these birds of prey. They are adept at using the terrain to their advantage, and are particularly skilled at scaling steep cliffs and mountainous terrain to surprise and overwhelm their enemies. In addition to their exceptional combat skills, the Eagle Guards were also known for their loyalty and dedication to the royal family. They undergo rigorous training and were selected based on their physical prowess, intelligence, and character, to become an Eagle Guard, applicants must be graduates of both the School of the Father and School of the Dragon.
The Eagle Guards are outfitted in distinctive uniforms that featured a stylized eagle emblem, and they were armed with a variety of weapons, including bows, spears, and swords. They were also known to use eagle feathers and talons in their armor and equipment, as a nod to the unit's namesake.
Druktse is a hub of cultural and religious activities, with several monasteries and temples located throughout the city.
The most famous of these is the Tashicho Dzong, a stunning fortress monastery that serves as the seat of The Gyelpa (The Duke) the secondary ruler of Druktse and the center of Druk-Ta worship. The dzong is surrounded by high walls and towers, and is accessible through a grand gate that is guarded by soldiers. The interior of the dzong is a maze of courtyards, chapels, and offices, all connected by narrow passageways and staircases.
One of the most impressive features of Tashicho Dzong is its towering central fortress and monastery, which rises above the rest of the complex and can be seen from miles around. This fortress is home to the Dragon Priests and is one of the most important structures in Jangshun. The fortress monastery is also famous for its beautiful architecture and intricate artwork. The walls of the courtyards are adorned with colorful murals and paintings, while the chapels are filled with statues and other religious artifacts. Visitors to Tashicho Dzong can tour the complex and learn about Jangshun history and culture, as well as observe the daily routines of the monks who live and work there. The Monastery is open to the public during certain hours of the day, and visitors are advised to dress modestly and remove their shoes before entering the chapels. Even though the current royal family of Jangshun are connected to The Father, The Dragon holds a special place in Druktse.
The people of Druktse are known for their warm hospitality and their strong sense of community. They celebrate several festivals throughout the year, including the annual Tshechu festival, the 3 Gods Festival which features colorful dances and rituals performed by monks and laypeople.
To the north-east of the Kingdom lies the second biggest city in Jangshun, the city of Lhagyal, often called “The Fire-proof City”
Lhagyal is a mass of stone walls and buildings with precious little wood being used at all, the walls of the city are imposingly high and even the central palace is relatively flat and does not rise above the walls, there are 4 gates made of pure steel and those are the only entrances and exits.
Inside the city walls, the streets are narrow and winding, with tall, tightly packed buildings constructed from rough-hewn stone. The architecture is distinct, with flat roofs and ornate metal doors decorating the doorways and windows, many of the buildings are built into the city's walls, their backs resting against the ancient stones.
There is more to the city than what meets the eye. Beneath the streets lie a labyrinth of tunnels and catacombs, built for both practical and spiritual purposes. Some are used for storage or as escape routes, while others are filled with ancient artifacts and sacred relics. The catacombs are also home to a complex network of underground temples and shrines and busy streets that are home to underground residences and businesses.
Despite its rugged appearance, the city's architecture is a testament to its resilience. It has withstood numerous attempts at invasion over the centuries, including attacks by powerful enemies armed with the latest in siege weaponry. The city's fortifications are a marvel of engineering, designed to withstand even the most devastating attacks and yet, for all its defensive prowess, the city has never lost sight of its cultural heritage.
The most famous instance of this was when the neighbouring Confucian Kingdom of Jinyun attempted to invade Jangshun with its impressive military might, scores of loyal foot-soldiers hardened by decades of conflict and advanced siege technology that included weapons that used fireworks.
The city withstood months of warfare with Lhagyal earning its nickname of “The Fire-proof City” The stone structures withstood the fireworks and the hard rock of the walls withstood the Jinyun catapults, outside the city several guerilla efforts by the Eagle Guards, The Company of the Hand and The White Tigers from Monyul lending their support repelled attempted on-foot invasions by the hardened Jinyun soldiers.
In the south-west of Jangshun, near the borders of Monyul and Taishigang lies the town of Gyalpeling, a place revered by monks and pilgrims alike. Gyalpeling, meaning "Abode of the Victorious" is a small yet vibrant town located in a remote corner of the kingdom. Its strategic location, surrounded by imposing mountains and blessed with fertile lands, has made it a crucial hub for spiritual activities and monastic life. The town is centered around a grand monastery, which serves as the heart and soul of the community. The monastery, known as Samtenling Monastery, is a majestic complex of ornate buildings adorned with colorful murals, fluttering prayer flags, and the sound of chanting monks echoing through the air. It is a revered place of worship and learning, drawing scholars, practitioners, and seekers of wisdom from far and wide. The streets of Gyalpeling are lined with modest housing for monks, adorned with intricate woodcarvings and colorful paintings. One of the most valuable cities in Jangshun isn't far from the capital, a short 1 hour horse ride east of Druktse stands the city of Jangtse, a jewel in the crown of the kingdom. Jangtse, meaning "Silver Peak" in the local tongue, owes its fame and prosperity to the rich veins of silver that run through the nearby mountains, making it a thriving center for mining and trade. At the heart of Jangtse rises a magnificent conical palace, known as Jang Potrang, or the "Silver Palace." The palace, glistening like a beacon atop the tallest hill in the city, is adorned with silver-plated roofs, walls, and pillars, reflecting the sunlight and casting a mesmerizing glow over the surrounding landscape. It serves as the royal residence, where the Count holds court and conducts affairs pertaining to the area between Jangtse and Druktse. The streets of Jangtse are lined with buildings that boast silver-plated facades, creating a surreal and shimmering sight as one walks through the city, often shining gold from reflecting the sunlight, the wealth of the city is evident in the intricate silver filigree work that adorns windows, doors, and rooftops of temples, mansions, and markets alike. The silversmiths of Jangtse are renowned for their craftsmanship, producing exquisite silverware and jewelry that are sought after by collectors and traders from distant lands. The city is a bustling center of commerce, with a vibrant market square where merchants from across the region gather to trade in silver, gemstones, textiles, and other precious goods. The sounds of bartering, laughter, and the clinking of silver coins fill the air.
The Armies of Jangshun are known for their ferocious foot-soldiers, the every-day rank and file soldiers of the Jangshun armies are regarded as the best in the region and are a feared prospect to face on any battlefield.
The soldiers of the army of Jangshun are highly disciplined and skilled in the art of warfare, and are renowned throughout the region for their courage and loyalty. They are trained in a variety of weapons and fighting styles, including archery, swordsmanship, and hand-to-hand combat.
It is said that the success of the army comes from the fact that many men and women who fight in it are from mountainous regions and are conditioned from a young age to move over mountainous land with ease, their armies can easily traverse land that would be impossible for normal armies to travel over, due to the fact that the soldiers know the land.
The army of Jangshun is led by a commander-in-chief, who is appointed by the common foot-soldiers and is responsible for the overall strategy and tactics of the army. Under the commander-in-chief, there are several generals and officers who oversee different units of the army, each with their own specific roles and responsibilities. The soldiers of the army of Jangshun are equipped with a variety of weapons and armor, including shields, helmets, and chainmail. They are also skilled in the use of traditional weapons, such as the da and the gochu, which are types of swords. In addition to their skills in battle, the soldiers of the army of Jangshun are also highly respected for their loyalty and devotion to their ruler and country. They are known for their strong sense of duty and honor, and are willing to lay down their lives in defense of their homeland. The army of Jangshun is often called upon to defend the kingdom against invading forces, and has a long history of successful battles and campaigns. Their reputation for courage and skill has earned them the respect of their neighbors and allies, and they are a source of pride and inspiration for the people of Jangshun.
One of the most famous regiments from Jangshun is the “Wheel of Steel” A heavily armored longsword unit founded by Princess Jamyang Daughter of King Kunga and Sister of King Yangchen of the Yeshe Dynasty after she travelled to Europe and witnessed people fighting in full suits of armor, this was a foreign concept in the areas around her and she implemented the idea with her Father's (And later Brother's) full support they were first deployed in aid of Taishigang who were experiencing an invasion from a nearby Dharmist Kingdom. The longswords cleaved through the invading forces lack of armor and their steel plates deflected blows.
Monyul
Monyul is a land of vast open spaces and stunning natural beauty. The kingdom is home to a proud and fiercely independent people, who have built a rich culture and a strong military tradition, its plains are green and warm during the summer but snow is not uncommon in winter. Dharmaling is the capital city of Monyul and is nestled in the hills, surrounded by winding rivers and vast grasslands. It is a city steeped in tradition and culture, with a rich history that stretches back centuries.
Dharmaling was built as the northern most outpost of the Dharmist Indraprastha Empire but was conquered by Tonpa forces from a tribe that would eventually become known as the Monyul. The city is built around a central marketplace, where merchants from all over the known world come to trade their wares. The marketplace is a bustling hub of activity, filled with the sounds of bargaining and haggling, and the aromas of exotic spices and perfumes.
The Company of the Wind have their main offices in Dharmaling and use the bustling 10 storey wooden building to plan its operations throughout the known world. The streets of Dharmaling are relatively wide due to the constant horse carts that pass through them. The buildings are made of stone and wood, with intricately carved facades and ornate balconies. Many of the houses have flat roofs, which are used as outdoor living spaces during the warmer months. At the heart of the city lies the great monastery of The 3 Gods, unlike in other cities which have separate monasteries for the three Gods, this temple combines them as a display of unity between the three sects. The massive structure dominates the skyline, with its towering walls and intricate carvings. The monastery is home to a community of monks, who dedicate their lives to the study and practice of Tonpa. Surrounding the monastery are the homes of the nobility, who are known for their wealth and power. These grand estates are filled with beautiful gardens and courtyards, and are often adorned with intricate carvings and colorful murals. Outside the city walls, the landscape is dotted with small villages and nomadic encampments. These communities are home to herders and farmers, who make their living tending to the region's yaks and sheep. Despite its remote location, Dharmaling is a city of great importance, both culturally and politically. It is a place of pilgrimage for Monks, Merchants and laypeople from all over the world, and is also a hub of trade and commerce. The people of Dharmaling are proud of their heritage and their way of life, and are fiercely protective of their city and its traditions.
A 30 minute walk to the west of Dharmaling lies the Temple of Tong Thang, the Beehive Temple, as visitors approach the temple, they are greeted by the gentle humming of bees that buzz around the entrance, seemingly inviting them inside, the entrance is adorned with ornate wooden doors intricately carved with depictions of bees in flight, the temple is home to hundreds of bee colonies. The interior of the temple is a marvel of craftsmanship. The walls are adorned with honeycomb patterns carved into the stone, creating a mesmerizing visual display. Soft light filters through small openings in the dome-shaped ceiling, the centerpiece of the temple is a large altar made of honey-colored stone, adorned with intricate carvings of bees and honeycombs, where devotees offer their prayers and offerings. The Temple of Thong Tang is a place of worship dedicated to the reverence of bees and their significance in nature and the cycle of life, every day priests and priestesses of The Mother make their way to the temple to tend to the bees, bringing them water and sliced fruits, every year there is a festival outside the temple where priests and priestesses of Caihong distribute honey gathered from the bees.
Monyul is home to a large lake called Jangchub Tso, the lake is bordered by lush green forests and snow-capped mountains to the south-east, a product of Monyul's border with Taishigang.
On the edge of the lake there is a large city called "Gangri Thang", which is known for its fish markets and skilled boatwrights, nobles from the surrounding Kingdoms often commission boatwrights from Gangri Thang to build grand freshwater barges for them.
Several villages surround the lake, mostly fishing and farming communities, every spring fishermen from these villages make their way to Gangri Thang with hundreds of fish, hoping to hock their catch to fishmongers, tourists and Company of the Wind officers.
The fish they carry is mainly the several species of trout that live in the lake but a few of the lucky ones carry the Golden Mahseer, a gleaming fish variety that is said to be very difficult to catch, although the taste of the fish pales in comparison to the trout, the Golden Mahseer is revered for its scales that give off a vibrant golden glow, these scales are often used in ceremonial dress of the region adoring clothing and jewellery.
The people of Monyul are also skilled artisans, known for their intricate weavings and pottery. The kingdom is home to many workshops and marketplaces, where merchants sell their wares to buyers from all over the region. The people of Monyul are known for their skill at horsemanship, and the kingdom is home to some of the finest cavalry units in the region. The army of Monyul is also composed of archers and spearmen, who are trained in the art of mounted combat and guerrilla warfare.
The most prestigious regiment of Monyul is a cavalry unit called the White Tigers, the horsemasters of the White Tigers are known as the strictest in the Tonpa Kingdoms, if a horse fails a single training drill both the horse and rider are deemed unworthy. The White Tigers main weapon is a thick spear, painted red with a bronze spearhead, it has a heavy counterweight at the back that also doubles as a blunt weapon. Their secondary weapons are a heavy sword and a short bow.

2023.06.07 10:57 Still_justastudent92 Poor man’s solution to detailing

Hi everyone!
I’ve recently bought a 2014 Skoda Superb 1.6 TDi that’s done a hefty 236k for cheap for a kind of restoration project. Needless to say, it’s seen better days mechanically and cosmetically. I’ve managed to learn and complete a major service, replace the entire braking system and had a new AC motor in, there’s a few other jobs need doing but it certainly drives loads better.
On the cosmetic side, the body has been battered with contamination, Chips, scuffs and even some detached and aging trim. I’ve managed to give the bodywork a good going over (first time doing any related work).
Getting to the main point (finally)… As we’re all aware the cost of living is quite frankly a kick in the dick for everybody, everything is expensive and affording them is just abysmal. But this project, or newfound hobby if you care to call it that, keeps me sane and grounded from all the stressors and hussle & bussle.
Aside from quality paint correction kit which I’ve been fortunate to acquire over the past few months. Can any typically found household cleaning products work wonders for either exteriointerior jobs?? Or do you happen to use any budget brands that work wonders such as Simoniz etc??

2023.06.07 10:53 idontreallyknow5575 I feel bad for her

Her and Andrew both have faults and they both have been victims of each other. Also I am sure the new woman has her side of things as well. Side note: No one dox her. Just figure I put that out there. Cindy also needs to leave her alone. There's nothing to gain from that.
But as a woman, man this is a fear of mine and I fucking feel for Cindy. You're with a man, using all those fertile years with him...and he can just cheat, leave, get someone younger and have a child with them instead. And the fact this relationship with him and the mistress was during Cindy's pregnancy and after her loss (from what I am reading anyway), next level PUKE. Like how horrible.
I still haven't watched the livestreams yet. Been using the subs to keep up. But man it's so damn unfair. Always always look out for red flags y'all. Your time is VALUABLE, the most precious thing you will ever own. I feel Cindy would handle this better if the loss of Andrew didn't mean the loss of ever being a mother. I can't fault her at all for that, lowkey I would feel the same way. That fucking sucks. I think many women stick around for reasons like that (which is why I am all for sperm donations and it not being taboo).
I can understand her feeling the pressure of finding someone else for that very reason too. People can be on their high horse telling her not to rush but mother nature is a bitch.

2023.06.07 10:49 ASGfan Episodic Review - The Odyssey (S5, E24)

Nice opening shot of water tumbling over the rocks as Dylan, a local boy, paints with Laura and Albert watching on. He paints portraits of nature and the water and things like that. He’s a regular Bob Ross! Dylan mentions of a dream to see the ocean as he promised his late father. Later at home, Dylan is working on a painting when he gets a nosebleed. Mom notes that’s the third one this week, so a trip to Doc Baker is in order. The next sequence is incredibly sad as Dylan is diagnosed with leukemia and Mom has trouble digesting the news. Dylan has met up with Laura and Albert outdoors again and announces plans to go see the ocean. On the way home, Albert informs Laura he will accompany Dylan. Laura wants to do the same but has some lingering doubts, so she asks Pa in the “What would you do if you had a month to live, I’m asking for a friend’ variety. Laura is now onboard with Albert in running away. If you’re going to run away, you call the experts.
CARRIE SCREEN TIME ALERT! Carrie finds a letter in one of her birthday presents and starts to read it. That’s a pretty ingenious way of getting Carrie to say her lines, actually. Laura stuffed a note in there about running away. The kids enlist the help of an older guy named Zeke to distract the rather angry train employee so they can illegally board the train to stow away. If the train employee isn’t scary enough, the threesome are quickly joined by another stowaway who looks like he’s on something. He steals their sandwiches, then a little later he makes a play for Dylan’s art case. I’m not sure if he’d be interested in art supplies, but Albert refuses to hand it over. The guy then tries to shove Albert off the train (!), but Laura pushes him off instead and helps Albert back on to the train. Charles catches up with Zeke, who blabs about where the kids are headed. Charles bops over to Hertz Rent-A-Horse and makes use of a train stop to catch up with the kids. Charles threatens whoopings for all of them. CHARLES INGALLS THREATENS TO BEAT OTHER PEOPLE’S TERMINALLY ILL CHILDREN! Dylan doesn’t want to go back. Charles tries to dissuade him, but quickly finds out it’s rather pointless to try and talk someone out of fulfilling their dying wish. CHARLES INGALLS HELPS CHILDREN RUN AWAY! Charles doesn’t have the money for a train (shock), so….CHARLES INGALLS ILLEGALLY BOARDS TRAINS AND HELPS CHILDREN TO STEAL!
The next morning, Dylan and Albert are the first ones up. Dylan mentions he’s hungry, so Albert goes over and cons a different train employee out of sandwiches, apples and milk. Charles is up by the time Albert returns and Pa gives his son what can best be described as a light slap on the wrist for stealing. Charles is all “well you stole the food, we might as well eat it.” CHARLES INGALLS KNOWINGLY USES STOLEN PROPERTY! Once again, meal time is interrupted, this time by the angry train employee from earlier. Charles actually thinks he can reason with him and justify the stealing, which is really stupid when you think about it. The train employee starts the eviction process, but…CHARLES INGALLS BEATS UP PEOPLE FOR DOING THEIR JOB AND ALMOST KILLS A MAN IN FRONT OF HIS CHILDREN! Charles actually wins a fight for a change. Must be a blue moon out. Pa lays it out very clear, saying he will pay back the money for the stolen food (but not the stolen fare!), and tells him nothing’s gonna stop them from seeing the ocean. I personally think they should have spit flying from Charles’ mouth for effect just like in the Grange-Chicago episode, but it still gets the point across.
The next morning, the quartet arrive in San Fran, just a few miles from their destination. They don’t seem to be in any particular hurry, stopping at the local mission for soup. Charles manages to hitch a ride with some guy I’ve never heard of named William Hearst or something. En route to the ocean, Charles holds Dylan’s hand and strokes the side of his face. Wha? Ah, the William Hearst guy owns a newspaper and wants to use Dylan’s story and offers to pay Charles for it. Charles declines, apparently thinking he has a magic transporter that will whisk them all away to the Grove when this is over. After some coaxing, Charles eventually accepts the money, though we never get to see if he makes good on his word to pay for any of the things he stole. And what happened to that horse? Anyways, Charles carries Dylan, who looks like he has taken a turn for the worse, to the Pacific Ocean (wouldn’t the Atlantic have been closer to Minnesota?) One has to wonder if that’s the ocean or just a collection of tears Charles has cried throughout this series. But I guess I shouldn’t make fun since Dylan gets his wish and now you’ll have to excuse me, because I have something in my eye.
THE JERRY SPRINGER FINAL THOUGHT -- This is my all-time favorite episode, which made it my all-time favorite review to do. A mixture of adventure and drama that blended well together. Sad, but with as happy of an ending that could be expected under the circumstances. Dylan was never seen or heard from again, although (sadly) the actor that played him -- Steve Shaw -- did die relatively young via a car accident in 1990. Charles committed crimes left and right, although he has that uncanny knack of bringing you over to his side of thinking. And Albert was a master con artist and grifter by this point.

About the Drop

Set in ancient Japan, The Masterpiece of Tamagata brings to life a secret story too dangerous to be published when it was first written by acclaimed author Betty Misheiker 60 years ago. Today, Leo Crane and Ilona Suschitzky, Misheiker’s daughter, are bringing the story to life as an animated feature film.
Originally projected near the Eiffel Tower in February 2023, Leo Crane's 30-second animated loop "Shikishi and Tamagata" will be presented as a Limited Edition on MakersPlace and immersive experience during NFC Lisbon on June 7, 2023. The 1/1 auction of "The Escape: The Masterpiece of Tamagata" will release thereafter on June 22, 2023.
The Tamagata Collection is a series of digital artworks derived from the film’s striking design, combining ink paintings, digital drawings, film and an orchestral score. Minted as NFTs, these artworks record the evolution of the project as we progress through the production phase.

Got my ,,revenge
Just venting here because this scam was really frustrating, yet rewarding in the end.
I bought a lot of LPS for 40€ on my local second hand platform. Great catch, right? The seller and I agreed that I would get every single LPS from the lot and did not mention any faults on the LPS. I asked for better pictures beforehand to ensure that I understood their condition and that none were missing, but the seller said they already packaged them beforehand ( I trusted them because of their good rewievs ). I was especially keen on the pets in the second picture, a cat, a dachshund, a collie and cute LPS in general.
When the package came, half the LPS - especially the ones I was keen on - were missing and every LPS I recieved was damaged, rusty and covered in paint, ink and highlighter. Really not looking forward to cleaning them.
Obviously the seller didn't acknowledge any of these claims. I offered the seller a return shippment of this disgrace on their dime. They refused and mockingly wrote: ,,Let's see if I'll get everything back.", wanting me to pay for the return shippment. Red Flags, i thought. They might try to turn this around on me and claim I took the LPS out and damaged the rest.
I had to file a case with the police ( policy of this selling site. If you are scammed, they only investigate further once you make a complaint to the police. ) Then the seller tried to refund me 10€ for the filthy state in which they came, still not acknowledging the damage and the missing LPS. They also filed a police report ( no idea with what claim😂 ) after me not accepting the offer and the platform closing the case in my favor.
End of story: the platform sided with me and refunded me the money back. I don't have to worry about sending the package back since the policy of the platform states it that way and it wasn't just a light discrepancy, in which case the platform instructs you to ship it back to the seller on their cost, it was full on malicious scamming. Yay, almost free, damaged LPS. I now always videotape the opening of my packages.

Does anyone else enjoy painting the trim? It seems to be treated like a chore but I'm finding that I quite enjoy it. I leave it until last and then as I paint the trim on each panel it brings it to life.
